Clancy Tripp is a queer Midwestern writer, graphic artist, and humorist. Her work has appeared in or is forthcoming from Black Warrior Review, Catapult, december, Electric Literature, The Florida Review, f(r)iction, The Greensboro Review, Indiana Review, The Iowa Review, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Ninth Letter, The Rumpus, Reductress, SLICE, swamp pink, and Witness.
She is the winner of the 2020 Iowa Review Award in Nonfiction (selected by Leslie Jamison) and the 2021 Witness Literary Award in Nonfiction (selected by Cinelle Barnes). Her essay “Goon” (The Iowa Review) was named a Notable Essay in The Best American Essays 2022.
Clancy holds a BA in Literature, Film, and Gender Studies from Claremont McKenna College and an MA in the Teaching of English from Columbia University. She recently earned her MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the Ohio State University and is currently working toward a PhD in Creative Writing and Literature at the University of Southern California where she also serves as the Fiction Editor/Publicity Director at Gold Line Press.
